Oleksandr Artiushyn, Swiss Re

Swiss Re is a global leader in traditional reinsurance products and related services that are complemented by insurance-based finance solutions and supplementary services for comprehensive risk management. The Agriculture team of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions provides innovative crop-shortfall direct insurance, weather-based index covers and structured price hedges to mitigate the financial impact of lower than expected raw material production to the clients along the agribusiness value chain.

Oleksandr Artiushyn is an agribusiness expert with experience in agricultural risk management, marketing, development, and finance. Before joining Swiss Re. Oleksandr was managing the agriculture development work of U.S. Agency for International Development in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus. Previously, he was leading grain, oilseed and sugar market research for Ukraine and Moldova in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. His previous experience also include management roles in the leading Ukrainian agriculture-related business associations, as well as equity research work for the largest investment bank in Ukraine.

Based in Zurich, Oleksandr is now responsible for originating Swiss Re agro corporate business, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries.
